Creating My Corridor

Floor:

For the walls and floor, I made a frame out of a polygon and them extended the back to close it off. This doesn't make the corridor look super sci-fi or futuristic, but because I want to focus on the horror aspect of the game too I thought that this type of corridor helped make it seem like more of a confined space with nowhere for the player to run.

Texturing and materials:

(left with lighting, right without lighting)
I decided that to get the best effect with my textures, I should see what reflects light the most/best and base my props and materials off of that. For materials that aren't reflective, eg. the *wooden chair, I used the Lambert texture as that hardly reflects anything, whilst everything that's shiny or metal I used a mix of Blinn, Phong and PhongE to give it the appropriate shine, for example the lit light on the ceiling is in Blinn but the busted ones are in Lambert so you can differentiate the two, and the doors are in PhongE to give them more of a shiny metal effect.

Props/objects:

The first of my props in my scene is the chair. During the animation/sequence, the player trips over the legs of the chair, breaking them off, making this prop interactive to some degree.

My second prop is the fallen ceiling tile on the floor near the chair. This prop isn't interactive and just helps to set the atmosphere.

My third prop is the hologram of the solar system with the monitor in the background. I've animated it so certain parts move slowly as the player does, you can see this when the player's walking towards the monitor, or when they're investigating the monitor at the end.

Rendering:

(bottom image shown does not display final render/animation)

For my final render, I used a bunch of different processes to get the effects I wanted. For the colour correction, I took my frames in Photoshop as an image sequence and did the editing there, and after that I bought the colour corrected MP4 into Premiere Pro to adjust the playback speed.
